Counting down to the largest NP/APN World Conference ever

Just one month exactly until the start of the 10th ICN NP/APN Conference in Rotterdam! Just a little resume: more than 1500 participants from over 50 countries, 17 renowned keynote speakers, more than 450 concurrent sessions spread over 10 rounds, great additional specials and clinical workshops, inspiring network corners and a wide variety of site visits.

Meet your peers

International exchange of knowledge and ideas at the Network Corners
This conference offers the ultimate opportunity for nurse practitioners from all over the world to meet each other. To support the interaction among peers, network corners will be set up in the foyer on the first floor. These corners have the purpose to be a place to meet for meetings, as a place to share ideas and as a place to exchange information.
The different corners each have their own theme and different colours for recognisability. In each corner the networks of the Dutch Nurse Practitioners Association (V&VN VS) will present themselves.
The Special by Prof. Petrie Roodbol on Sunday, with workshops provided by different networks of the Dutch Association of Nurse Practitioners (V&VNVS) is intended as a kick-off and invitation for these network corners.The themes of the network corners are:

The workshops/network meetings are thoughtfully facilitated by V&VN VS, the Dutch Association for Nurse Practitioners.

Meet with colleagues from all over the world to exchange knowledge, experiences, views and ideas and to create valuable and lasting contacts.

 


 

Dutch Innovation Plaza
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the conference features the Dutch Innovation Plaza. This innovation square is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Health. Located in the heart of the conference venue, innovations in line with the three main themes of the conference are shown:

  • The changing role of the nurse practitioners
  • Leadership in the transformation of care
  • Interprofessional collaboration and the role of nurse practitioners

And there is more to explore! At the Dutch Innovation Plaza you can grab a cup of coffee/tea or a sandwich and join a variety of workshops, interactive lectures and play the e-health quiz. Or join us for one of the hands-on workshop on e-health and robotics, implementation of e-health, interprofessional collaboration and scrum for care. Discover proven and emerging e-health solutions for improved care which will be pitched by some of the leading Dutch innovators. At the plaza you can experience e-health yourself, for example by trying out different Virtual Reality applications in health career test-drive a variety of apps, smart tools and robots. The innovation plaza is the conference hotspot where you can experience the meaningful use of e-health while having fun!

The Dutch Innovation Plaza is supported by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and will be opened by the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, Deputy Prime Minister Hugo de Jonge.

Heads up for presenters

PowerPoint

If you will be using a PowerPoint presentation, please make sure the aspect ratio is 16:9 (wide screen).
You will be able to upload your presentation from two weeks prior to the start of the conference until 30 minutes before the start of your sessions. At the venue there will be a designated room with laptops for presenters to upload or to work at your presentation (Speaker Service Centre).
The details regarding the uploading of your presentation will be sent by email two weeks before the start of the conference.
Poster & Pitch

The poster panels are 147 x 97 cm (landscape). An A0-poster will easily fit (A0 = 118,9 x 84,1 cm). A portrait poster can be pinned to the panels as well, but the lower part (22 cm) will hang loose.

On the day of your Poster Pitch, we kindly ask you to hang your poster between 08.00 – 09.00 hours, so your poster can also be viewed during all breaks.

Concurrent Sessions
There is no pre-registration for the concurrent sessions. You can decide which sessions to attend at the time, where the simple rule of first-come-first-serve applies. About the conference

Theme: Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Practice Nurses Bridging the Gap: Towards Futuristic Healthcare through collaborative practice and leadership.

This 10th ICN NP/APN Conference will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands from 26-29 August 2018. It provides a unique opportunity to build relationships and to disseminate nursing knowledge and leadership skills across NP/APN-specialities, cultures and countries.

The ICN NP/APN conferences are renowned as the largest international forums for NP/APNs. The 2014 ICN NP/APN Conference in Helsinki, Finland brought together more than 700 delegates from across the globe exploring the importance of cross-cultural understanding and global cooperation in nursing. In 2016 the ICN NP/APN Conference in Hong Kong welcomed 900 delegates. In 2018 the Rotterdam conference aims to receive 1,500 delegates.

This international conference will attract delegates from Clinical Practice, Research, Education, Health Policy, Leadership and Management. The conference will explore a number of issues including:

  • Leadership and innovations for new and emerging NPs/APNs models of care
  • NPs/APNs leadership in transformation of healthcare
  • The role of NPs/APNs in widening access and equity to healthcare
  • Impact of NPs/APNs on improving healthcare for patients, organizations and society
  • Leadership of NPs/APNs in clinical and professional practice
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare and leadership role of NPs/APNs

Approval for awarding International Continuing Nursing Education Credits (ICNECs) is currently being sought from the International Council of Nurses. Certificate of participation will be sent to international delegates by email after the conference. For Dutch participants: accreditation is applied for at Kwaliteitsregister V&VN and Verpleegkundig Specialisten Register.
